Gamtae thrives in Garorim Bay, one of the top five tidal flats in the world. Although it resembles seaweed, it's not just any seaweed- with its vibrant green color and thread-like appearance, Gamtae is known as the sea's medicinal herb. Despite its bitter taste, it surprisingly turns sweet when chewed. And with strict growth conditions such as clean tidal flats, ample sunlight, and low salinity, Gamtae is 100% natural and cannot be grown. It's a rarity that can only be harvested in winter along the southwest coast of Korea, specifically from Seosan Garorim Bay. Due to its limited production, Gamtae is considered a premium ingredient.

감태는 세계 5대 갯벌 중 하나인 가로림만에서 자랍니다. 비록 김과 비슷하게 생겼지만 김은 아닙니다. 실처럼 가늘고 밝은 초록빛이 돌며,바다의 약초라고 불립니다. 맛은 쌉사름 한데 씹다보면 놀랍게도 단맛이 돕니다. 감태는 깨끗한 갯벌과 알맞은 일조량, 낮은 염도 등 성장 조건이 까다로워 양식이 안되기 때문에 모두 다 자연산이라고 할 수 있습니다. 우리나라 서남해안 일부 해역에서 겨울철에만 얻을 수 있는데 서산 가로림만에서 채취합니다. 생산량이 많지 않아 고급 식재료로 활용되고 있습니다.
